Softball Recap: Holy Family Catholic Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Holy Family Catholic ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They skirted past the West Lutheran Warriors 5-4. The Fire's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Kyla Kockler spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Isla Johnson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Brianna DeLorenzo, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Holy Family Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Family Catholic will head out to challenge Minneapolis Southwest at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West Lutheran, they will take on PACT Charter at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
