Meanwhile, Bernalillo faced Portales in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Bernalillo enjoyed a cozy 14-0 win over Portales. The Spartans' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Bernalillo wouldn't let Portales keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Jaden Lovato was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance. Another thorn in Portales' side was Lee Miller, who picked up three sacks and made eight total tackles (4.0 for loss).
