Having just played yesterday, the Glendale Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Curwensville Golden Tide at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Glendale beat Blacklick Valley 41-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Glendale.
Meanwhile, even though Claysburg-Kimmel scored an imposing 59 points on Monday, Curwensville still came out on top. Curwensville took their match against Claysburg-Kimmel 67-59. The victory was all the more spectacular given Curwensville's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 379th, while Claysburg-Kimmel is ranked 157th).
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Davis Fleming and Elias Ritchey. Fleming had a great game and scored 19 points along with eight assists. Meanwhile, Ritchey did his best for the losing side, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Glendale is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Curwensville, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-2.
Glendale took a serious blow against Curwensville in their previous meeting back in January, falling 70-34. Thankfully for Glendale, Dan McGarry (who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
