The Fort Collins Lambkins stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Prairie View 66-24 at home. The victory was nothing new for Fort Collins as they're now sitting on five straight.
Leading Fort Collins to victory were Avery Alcaraz and Jocelyn Kramar. Alcaraz scored 17 points, while Kramar scored ten points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Penley Park, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Several Thunderhawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Celicia Robles, who scored 18 points along with two steals. That was a full 75% of Prairie View's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Paige Walker was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Prairie View struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Fort Collins racked up 16 assists.
Fort Collins pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Prairie View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Collins won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rock Canyon at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. Rock Canyon is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64 points per game. Prairie View won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. Horizon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Prairie View in Colorado (Horizon is ranked tenth, while Prairie View is ranked 136th).
