If the Newark Academy Minutemen were riding high off their 64-33 takedown of Tech last week, that ride came to an abrupt end. The contest between Newark Academy and the Millburn Millers on Saturday was not particularly close, with Newark Academy falling 53-36.
It was another big night for Millburn's junior Benjy Goldberg, who had 21 points. That's the most points Goldberg has had all season.
The Minutemen's overall record fell to 5-9. The victory was the fourth in a row for Millburn and raised their record to 9-6.
The Minutemen will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Glen Ridge. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 32 minutes: the MaxPreps rankings predict a close game. As for Millburn, they will go up against Nutley on Tuesday. Millburn won't have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
