Softball Recap: Cordova Wins Going Away Against Grant

Cordova not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 25th. Everything went their way against the Grant Pacers as they made off with a 16-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Isabella Tarpley-Cruz made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Tarpley-Cruz was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Becca Lee and Briel Brookins did most of the damage at the plate: Lee scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Brookins went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Lee has posted since back in April of 2024. T'Lou O'Daol was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Cordova always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .812. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Cordova's record is now 4-5. As for Grant, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cordova will face off against rival Antelope at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Grant is set to challenge their familiar foe McClatchy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
