Walden Grove is a perfect 3-0 against Safford since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Red Wolves will venture away from home to take on the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Walden Grove is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Walden Grove barely beat Sahuaro the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Red Wolves blew past the Cougars 11-3 on Wednesday. The Red Wolves haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Walden Grove got a big performance out of Jaxsen Philistine, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Vaughn Sexton also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Walden Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Safford's offense. They lost 10-0 to Sabino on Tuesday.

Walden Grove's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Safford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Safford's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Walden Grove hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. It's a different story for Safford, though, as they've only averaged .219. Will they be able to contain Walden Grove's hitters?

Walden Grove took their victory against Safford when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
