Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Gloria Deo Academy Lions, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They suffered a tough 56-36 defeat at the hands of the Chargers on Saturday. Gloria Deo Academy's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Gloria Deo Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nolan Chandler. Despite the final result, he rushed for 203 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 55 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Chandler is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played.
It was another big night for Elijah Sprinkle, who rushed for 256 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 14.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 257 yards and four touchdowns for Fort Bend Chargers HomeSchool. Cooper Manz did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 108 receiving yards.
Gloria Deo Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Fort Bend Chargers HomeSchool, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.
