The Greenfield-Central Cougars will venture away from home to take on the East Central Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Greenfield-Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
Greenfield-Central will head out to face East Central after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. Greenfield-Central took a 79-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lawrence Central. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Bears are ranked 44th).

Greenfield-Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Braylon Mullins, who went 10-for-21 on his way to 28 points and six rebounds, and Boston Willard, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 assists. The contest was Mullins' third in a row with at least 28 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Johnson, who posted 11 points and six boards.
Meanwhile, East Central lost to Ryle on the road by a 64-48 margin on Tuesday.
Greenfield-Central will need to focus on slowing down Joel Richter, one of several East Central players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6-for-10 en route to 17 points and five rebounds. Richter continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Cole Reynolds was another key player, putting up 11 points.
East Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Greenfield-Central, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 18-3.
Friday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Greenfield-Central has been dynamite from deep this season, having nailed 45.5% of their three-pointers per game. However, it's not like East Central struggles in that department as they've made 37.8% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Greenfield-Central came up short against East Central in their previous matchup back in January of 2015, falling 54-45. Can Greenfield-Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
