Amboy-LaMoille (Amboy, Ill.) had a comfortable lead entering the fourth quarter, but used six fourth quarter points to seal the 36-12 victory over
North Shore Country Day (Winnetka, Ill.).
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the second quarter, the Clippers led 22-12 at the half.
Amboy-LaMoille expanded its lead to 18 points entering the fourth quarter. AL scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run.
The Raiders came in giving up 15.2 points per game this season. The Amboy school went into the matchup giving up only 14.8 points per game.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Clippers, which was coming off a 13-6 defeat at the hands of Newman Central Catholic in its previous game.
