New Athens' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Peyton Houser led the charge by scoring 13 points. Houser also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Ella Bohn was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 15 rebounds.
New Athens' victory bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Cobden, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
New Athens will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Valmeyer at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th. Cobden and Century will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Century is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
