TRACK AND FIELD: VENA SETS ANOTHER RECORDMorristown (N.J.) senior Nick Vena, who holds numerous shot put records, set another one with an effort of 70 feet, 10.75 inches during the 17th Hispanic Games in New York City. He also threw the shot 71 feet, 9.5 inches for an indoor personal record while winning his specialty at the Morris County Relays in Madison, N.J.
* Though just a sophomore, Kendell Williams of
Kell (Marietta, Ga.) was named Most Outstanding Female during the LSU Indoor Classic in Baton Rouge, La. She won the 55-meter hurdles in a meet-record 8.06 seconds, won the high jump at 5 feet, 8 inches and was third in the long jump.
Catholic (New Iberia, La.) senior Morgan LeLeux won the pole vault at 13 feet.
