If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Tuscaloosa Academy. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Kingwood Christian at 7:00 PM. After both teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one of them is set up to suffer a discouraging change of fortune.
Tuscaloosa Academy took their matchup against Escambia Academy last week by a conclusive 31-7 score.
Meanwhile, Kingwood Christian made easy work of Coosa Valley Academy and carried off a 21-0 victory. The Kingwood Christian offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Their wins bumped Kingwood Christian to 3-0 and Tuscaloosa Academy to 2-0. With both Kingwood Christian and Tuscaloosa Academy swaggering in after impressive performances, it will be interesting to see which team steps up to teach the other some humility.
