The Georgetown Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 65-49 bruising from Richland Northeast.
Georgetown's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Nesbit, who scored 15 points. Ty Stanley was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Among those leading the charge was Ryan Scriven, who scored 21 points along with 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Tillman, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds.
Georgetown's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Richland Northeast, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Georgetown will square off against St. James at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. St. James presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Georgetown in South Carolina (St. James is ranked 48th, while Georgetown is ranked 154th). Richland Northeast will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th.
