Dickinson is 8-1 against Clear Lake since September of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Dickinson Gators will head out on the road to face off against the Clear Lake Falcons at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dickinson has six straight victories, Clear Lake has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Dickinson on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Brazoswood out of the water with a 59-0 final score. The result was nothing new for Dickinson, who have now won five matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 41-10, which was the final score in Clear Lake's tilt against Clear Springs on Friday. While losing is never fun, Clear Lake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while Clear Springs is ranked 138th).
The losing side was boosted by Elijah Harris, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Harris' longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.
Dickinson's win bumped their season record to 6-1 while Clear Lake's loss dropped theirs to 3-4.
Dickinson took their win against Clear Lake in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 31-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dickinson since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
