Willamette has been on the road for four straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the North Eugene Highlanders at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
Willamette pushed their score all the way to 60 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-60 to Crater. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (59), Willamette still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, North Eugene came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged Philomath out 48-45.
North Eugene got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jonas Spencer out in front who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was India Mohiuddin, who scored 11 points along with 4 steals.
Willamette bumped their record down to 0-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for North Eugene, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Willamette came up short against North Eugene in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 58-50.
