Shrine Catholic extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 16-6 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Mott Corsairs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-4 last Monday.

The team relied heavily on Caydin Barbato, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jackson Poulton, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

As for Mott, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 17 of their last 18 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-32 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured nine losses in a row.

On Mott's side, Oscar Hubbell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. That run marked the first that Hubbell has scored this season. Karter Starr was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shrine Catholic will take on Clawson at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mott, they will challenge Rochester at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Corsairs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
