Firestone has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the North Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Saturday was a slow day for Firestone's offense, as the team failed to make it on the board. They took a 14-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of East. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Firestone in their matchups with East: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, North's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Ellet by a score of 20-14.
Despite the loss, North got a solid performance out of Marvin Causey jr, who rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also picked up 88 receiving yards and a touchdown. Causey jr's longest reception was for an incredible 77 yards.
With that loss, Firestone now have a losing record at 3-4. North's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-6.
Firestone easily got past North in their previous meeting last October by a score of 28-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Firestone since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
