After flying high against the Cranberry Area Berries on Tuesday, the Karns City Gremlins came back down to earth. Karns City was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 67-66 to Redbank Valley. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Leading Redbank Valley to victory were Mason Clouse and Kieran Fricko. Clouse scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Fricko scored 20 points along with six assists and four steals. Clouse is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Clouse, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Karns City's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for Redbank Valley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Karns City will be home for the holidays to greet Moniteau at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Redbank Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Punxsutawney at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Punxsutawney has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 202 points over their last three games.
