Pender is 0-3 against the Tigers since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pender Pendragons will face off against the North Bend Central Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Pender will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Even though Pender has not done well against the Knights recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Pender strolled past the Knights with points to spare, taking the game 60-45. That's two games straight that Pender has won by exactly 15 points.
Pender got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Trevor Trimble out in front who scored nine points along with eight assists. It was the first time this season that Trimble posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Aiden Beckman, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
In what's become a running theme this season, North Bend Central gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past Madison 55-30. The score was close at the half, but North Bend Central pulled away in the second half with 38 points.
Pender's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for North Bend Central, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
Pender was taken down by the Tigers 71-19 when the teams last played back in January of 2017. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Pender was down 53-8.
