After two games on the road, Quantico is heading back home. They will take on the Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Quantico will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 133rd).
Last Friday, Quantico was the victim of a tough 62-36 loss at the hands of the Badgers.
Meanwhile, Randolph-Macon Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top against Fork Union Military Academy by a score of 59-50.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Randolph-Macon Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chidera George, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds. George is crushing the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Bilal Kebbay, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Quantico dropped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Randolph-Macon Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 14-1.
Quantico was dealt a bruising 74-22 loss at the hands of the Yellow Jackets in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of George, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Now that Quantico knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
