Corcoran suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 88-60 loss at the hands of Cicero-North Syracuse. Corcoran has not had much luck with Cicero-North Syracuse recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, Utica Academy of Science had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 66-54 victory over Bishop Grimes on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Utica Academy of Science's disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 467th, while Bishop Grimes is ranked 156th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Utica Academy of Science to victory, but perhaps none more so than Doneilious King j.r, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. King j.r is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Akol Machteng, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Corcoran dropped their record down to 4-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Utica Academy of Science, their victory bumped their record up to 2-11.
