This season hasn't been kind to the International Prep at Grover Presidents, who are still winless after their fifth game. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 55-54 to East. International Prep at Grover was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as East apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Jussean Pearsall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for East, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. The game was Pearsall's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Rhondell Johnson, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
International Prep at Grover's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for East, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. International Prep at Grover will take on North Collins at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hutchinson-Central Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hutchinson-Central Tech presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East in New York (Hutchinson-Central Tech is ranked 244th, while East is ranked 720th).
