The East Tigers can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent game on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Whetstone 57-18 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory East has managed all season.
East got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaliyah Barron out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Barron has scored at least a third of East's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakarol Morrison, who scored 20 points along with six assists and two steals.
East now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Whetstone, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Beechcroft at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Whetstone won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Centennial will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
