The Walker Wildcats will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Benton Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Walker at home against Family Christian as the squad secured a 79-15 win. Given Walker's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Family Christian is ranked 133rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Walker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Leah Eddards, who scored 18 points. Eddards is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of La'Shantae Clay, who scored 11 points along with 7 assists and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Benton waltzed into Tuesday's match with four straight wins but they left with five. They put the hurt on West Monroe with a sharp 59-33 victory.
Their wins bumped Walker to 4-1 and Family Christian to 8-5.
Walker strolled past Benton in their previous matchup back in February by a score of 49-35. Does Walker have another victory up their sleeve, or will Benton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
