4A Conference 11 recap November 19, 2013
Wakefield added to the longest winning streak in 4A Conference 11 this week by beating Green Hope, 14-13. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Wolverines.
Wakefield and the Falcons played the most contested game in the league this week, with Wakefield eventually emerging with a 14-13 victory. Evan Brabrand threw for 92 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 54 yards in the win.
Jeriko Styles was a passing and rushing force as Sanderson fell to Jack Britt. Styles' favorite target this week was Styles, who caught 2 passes for 48 yards.
Bryce Love was the best running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 141 yards as Wake Forest bested Panther Creek. Reynolds also contributed to the rushing game with 91 yards on the ground.
Leading 4A Conference 11 in both passing and receiving yards, Rod Sink's team's Brabrand and Josh Lowery have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Brabrand has thrown for 2,805 yards this season, while Lowery has 60 catches for 734 yards. The Cougars' Love leads the league in rushing yards with 1,787.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Millbrook takes on the Wolverines. The Wildcats are currently in third, while Wakefield is in first.
Heritage fell to Scotland 56-21 last week, the largest margin of any game.
