After two games on the road, Burlington Township is heading back home. They will take on the Burlington City Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Burlington Township didn't have too much trouble with Pemberton on the road as they won 70-51.
Burlington Township's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Ferguson, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Ferguson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Quayd Hendryx was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Burlington City came up short against Medford Tech on Friday and fell 77-66. While losing is never fun, Burlington City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while Medford Tech is ranked 109th).
Burlington Township is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Burlington City, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-12.
Burlington Township beat Burlington City 59-47 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Does Burlington Township have another victory up their sleeve, or will Burlington City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
