The East Panthers pushed their score all the way to 73 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 74-73 to Tapestry. Even though they lost, East's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 55.5 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Loss or not, East got some senior leadership from Rhondell Johnson who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and Mysean Morrison who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Johnson also pulled down eight rebounds for the first time this season. Jussean Pearsall was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for East and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Tapestry, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East won't have much time to rest: their next match is against South Park at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Tapestry is on the road again on Thursday and play against Buffalo Academy of Science at 6:30 p.m. on December 14th.
