If the Palmerton Blue Bombers were riding high off their 73-44 takedown of the Moravian Academy Lions last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Palmerton fell 54-45 to Saucon Valley on Saturday. Palmerton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Saucon Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Saucon Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caleb Grim led the charge by scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Braden Weiss, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Palmerton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Saucon Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmerton will challenge Palisades at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Palisades is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Saucon Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Northern Lehigh at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Northern Lehigh is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
