If the Calvert Hall Cardinals were feeling good off their 68-37 takedown of the Rosedale Christian Academy Rosedale Panthers on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Calvert Hall received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 63-47 to Severn School. Calvert Hall was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Severn School apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Despite the loss, Calvert Hall still got an impressive performance from Brendan Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson scored a full 42.6% of Calvert Hall's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Maclaren Latoga was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Calvert Hall's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Severn School, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Calvert Hall will head out on the road to face off against Goretti at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Severn School, they will be playing at home against Mount St. Joseph at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mount St. Joseph will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
