Sierra Vista has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Nogales Nobles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Sierra Vista focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Sierra Vista beat Azusa 39-33.
It was another big night for Aaron Buna, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Ricardo Bernal, who scored six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Nogales didn't have too much trouble with Duarte on the road on Friday as they won 58-42.
Sierra Vista has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Nogales, their win bumped their record up to 11-12.
Everything came up roses for Sierra Vista against Nogales in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 68-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sierra Vista since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
