The Harts Bluff Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Maud Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Harts Bluff has three straight victories, the Cardinals have eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Harts Bluff has not done well against the Rebels recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Harts Bluff walked away with a 39-30 win over the Rebels.
Meanwhile, Maud took a serious blow against the Pirates on Friday, falling 49-20. Maud has struggled against the Pirates recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Maud's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mallorie Bishop, who scored 11 points, and Chesni Martin who scored eight points. That was a full 55% of Maud's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Harts Bluff has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-13 record this season. As for Maud, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-17.
Harts Bluff took their victory against the Cardinals in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 52-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harts Bluff since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
