The Austin Packers are taking a road trip to square off against the Byron Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Austin fell victim to Mankato West and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Scarlets, falling 10-0. The Packers have struggled against the Scarlets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Kaydence Schaefer spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and eight unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Austin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Anderson, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, Byron entered their tilt with Cannon Falls on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bombers, sneaking past 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since June 4, 2025.
The team relied heavily on Kaydence Fjerstad, who fired off two home runs, three RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tallie Behrens, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.
Byron lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Byron, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
Austin beat Byron 7-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Packers repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
