Scarborough is 1-8 against the Eagles since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Scarborough Spartans are on the road again and plays the Washington Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Scarborough comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Monday, Scarborough had to suffer through a rough 58-21 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs.
Meanwhile, Washington beat the Colts 62-53 on Friday. The win was just what Washington needed coming off of a 71-45 loss in their prior game.
Washington relied on the efforts of Danaya Pope, who scored 20 points, and Shaniece Powell, who scored 19 points. Pope has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Chloe Cleare, who scored seven points.
Scarborough has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Washington, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-9.
Scarborough was taken down by the Eagles 62-12 when the teams last played back in January. Can Scarborough avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
