There's no place like home for the White Pine Bobcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Lake Mead Academy with a sharp 44-23 victory on Friday. This was payback for White Pine, who suffered a 56-37 loss the last time these two teams met.
White Pine found their leader in underclassman Brenley Skadburg, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Skadburg has scored at least 25% of White Pine's points. Another player making a difference was Mallory Thompson, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
White Pine's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Lake Mead Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
White Pine won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against GV Christian at 3:00 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully GV Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 37 last Friday. Lake Mead Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Needles at 3:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
