Springfield has won four straight games at home, while Marlington has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Spartans will welcome the Dukes at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Springfield had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt East on Wednesday. The Spartans never let the Dragons get on the board and left with a 15-0 win.

Joey Klein was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Hannah Goodson was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Bre Ruggiero was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Springfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Marlington got the win against Perry on Friday by a conclusive 12-2.
Chelsea Miller was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Savage, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs.
Springfield is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Marlington, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.
Both Springfield and Marlington just can't seem to miss. The Spartans have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Marlington struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
