The Nimitz Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Irving Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Nimitz's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
On Friday, Nimitz didn't have quite enough to beat Richardson and fell 2-1. Nimitz has not had much luck with Richardson recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Irving's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 9-0 walloping at the hands of Highland Park. While losing is never fun, Irving can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 385th, while Highland Park is ranked 12th).
Nimitz's loss dropped their record down to 2-8-2. As for Irving, they dropped their record down to 4-8-3 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
