The West Muskingum Tornadoes will venture away from home to face off against the Maysville Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. West Muskingum is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
West Muskingum will bounce into Monday's match after beating East Knox, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. The Tornadoes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Bulldogs on Saturday.

The team relied heavily on Preston Ferrell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grady Dollings, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Maysville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Philo, falling 10-1. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Maysville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was TREVOR HAGUE, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. SLADE SHREVE was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Maysville's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for West Muskingum, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Maysville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Muskingum has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Maysville, though, as they've been averaging 10.6 hits. Given West Muskingum's sizable advantage in that area, the Panthers will need to find a way to close that gap.
West Muskingum was able to grind out a solid win over Maysville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 9-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tornadoes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
