Concord Academy hasn't had much luck against Metrolina Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will take on the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Gray Madeira made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Madeira was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Concord Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-9 when he doesn't).
Meanwhile, Metrolina Christian Academy entered their tilt with SouthLake Christian Academy on Monday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Eagles. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by seven runs or more this season.
Sully Mellor looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alex Lerch was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Abram Hargett was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Concord Academy's record is now 6-9. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, their record now sits at 23-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Concord Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Metrolina Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Concord Academy might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Metrolina Christian Academy in their previous meeting on April 3rd. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
