I Section III recap September 17, 2013
Michael Amado and Clark Brown provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Corona del Sol. The connection was good for 147 yards, the longest such play in I Section III this season.
Skyline and the Aztecs played the most contested game in the league this week, with Skyline eventually emerging with a 24-21 victory. Amado threw for 134 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win.
Kyle Allen threw for 356 yards and 5 touchdowns. He went 20-24 with 1 interceptions.
Allen put up the best numbers in passing as Desert Mountain topped Willow Canyon. Allen's favorite target this week was Mark Andrews, who caught 7 passes for 200 yards.
Brown had an awesome week catching the football as Mountain View topped Highland. He caught 7 passes for 218 yards.
Taren Morrison was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 135 yards on 7 carries as Desert Ridge defeated the Hawks. Teammate Danny Siamau added to the ground attack by rushing for 41 yards.
Brown was the best receiver in I Section III this week as Mountain View beat Highland. Robby Millward helped Mountain View's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 30 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Allen of the Wolves is the league leader in passing yards this season with 838. He has also thrown 6 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Brown. The Mountain View star has 17 catches for 395 yards.
The Jaguars took down O'Connor 55-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tate Shumway threw for 85 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 18 yards during the win.
