The South Oak Cliff Bears on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Kimball Knights at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, South Oak Cliff beat Hillcrest 54-48.
Kimball posted their biggest victory since December 19, 2023 on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Jefferson 66-24 on the road. Given Kimball's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Jefferson is ranked 1440th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Rico Aguilar, who scored 13 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lekendrick Taylor, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and two blocks.
South Oak Cliff is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. As for Kimball, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-11.
South Oak Cliff skirted past Kimball 53-50 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Oak Cliff since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
