On Friday, Nocona made easy work of Chico and carried off a 14-4 win. Considering the Indians have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Skye Kirby and Kylea Wallace did most of the damage at the plate: Kirby went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs, while Wallace scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave Wallace a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ma'Leigha Franklin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Nocona always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chico only posted an OBP of .360.
Meanwhile, Lindsay unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 15-6 to Muenster.
Reagan Swaney was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Hielckert, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Nocona is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. Lindsay's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 11-8.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Nocona hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .430. However, it's not like Lindsay struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Nocona suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Lindsay when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will Nocona have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
