Baseball Recap: Suncoast Find Success

While Suncoast's victory against Palm Beach Gardens wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Chargers won by a run and slipped past the Gators 8-7. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Nic Pascocello made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Suncoast is 6-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-8 otherwise. Pascocello was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brayden Moore, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Casey Brodnicki, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Suncoast kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 7-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Suncoast's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Palm Beach Gardens, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-17.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Suncoast will face off against Dr. Joaquin Garcia at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Bulldogs have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Palm Beach Gardens, they will take on Forest Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
