Volleyball Recap: Churchill Gets the Win

Churchill won the last time they faced Hays and things went their way on Friday too. The Chargers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hawks, sneaking past 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

Gia Duenez paced Churchill's offense, picking up nine kills. Duenez got some help from Sofia Sedano and her 15 assists. Duenez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Brianna Rodriguez and Angela Huffman certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Rodriguez had 11 digs and three aces, while Huffman had 11 digs.

Churchill's win bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Hays, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

Churchill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool on the 29th. As for Hays, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Pflugerville on the 29th.
