Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, KIPP Esperanza beat East Palo Alto Academy 35-31. The victory was just what KIPP Esperanza needed coming off of a 72-45 defeat in their prior contest.
KIPP Esperanza's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Tuli Vea, who scored 12 points, and Jaylen Bush, who scored 13 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Bush has scored at least 25% of KIPP Esperanza's points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 65-13, which was the final score in Luis Valdez Leadership Academy's tilt against San Jose last Thursday. Luis Valdez Leadership Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
