Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mountain Vista walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Legend Titans on Saturday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Golden Eagles sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Luke Colquette paced Mountain Vista's offense, picking up 12 kills. Colquette got some help from Keyvon Motallebi and his 35 assists.
Despite the loss, Legend still got an impressive performance from Guy Gibbs, who had 16 digs and one assist. Gibbs has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 13 times he's played.
Mountain Vista's win bumped their record up to 22-2. As for Legend, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
Coincidentally, Mountain Vista and Legend will both be playing Cheyenne Mountain the next time they take the court. The Golden Eagles will host the Red-Tailed Hawks at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Titans will play them later in the day, at 11:30 p.m.
