Basketball Recap: Dirigo Skates Past Sacopee Valley with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dirigo). They blew past the Sacopee Valley Hawks 93-41 on Saturday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Cougars with their most commanding win of the season.

Dirigo's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Sacopee Valley, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Dirigo Cougars take on the North Yarmouth Academy Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dirigo is facing North Yarmouth Academy at the right time seeing as North Yarmouth Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Sacopee Valley and Morse will round out the year against one another at at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Sacopee Valley will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Morse will have lost three straight heading into Friday's game.
