Fairhaven has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Seekonk Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Last Tuesday, Fairhaven came up short against Case and fell 51-40. While losing is never fun, Fairhaven can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Case is ranked 78th).
Seekonk has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They came out on top against Southeastern RVT by a score of 60-52 on Monday. 60 seems to be a good number for Seekonk as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Johnny Payne was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Noah Beausoleil, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Fairhaven's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Seekonk, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Fairhaven came up short against Seekonk in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 64-58. Can Fairhaven avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
