Baseball Recap: Sudan Wins Going Away Against Ralls

Sudan won against Ralls on Monday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Hornets were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Jackrabbits. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Caleb Groetken made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 15 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julian Salas, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

The victory made it two in a row for Sudan and bumps their season record up to 17-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Ralls, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 16-6.

Sudan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ralls, they will take on Colorado at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Jackrabbits are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
