Orlando Science scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 56-42 victory over Hampden DuBose Academy. That 56-42 margin sets a new team best for Orlando Science this season.
Orlando Science's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Armin Ashori, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for him. Myles Gipson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, even though Trinity Christian Academy scored an imposing 58 points on Thursday, Lake Mary Prep still came out on top. Lake Mary Prep took down Trinity Christian Academy 74-58. The victory was all the more spectacular given Lake Mary Prep's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 416th, while Trinity Christian Academy is ranked 194th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Mary Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Cruse, who scored 20 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cruse has scored at least 25% of Lake Mary Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wade Brashears, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
The win got Orlando Science back to even at 4-4. As for Lake Mary Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Orlando Science have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 21.9 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Lake Mary Prep, though, as they've been averaging only 38.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
